Catgas Energia, are the oldest LNFS club. It was initially founded as Industrias Garcia in 1975. They managed to get promoted to the National First Division in 1986 when they became Catalonia champions. After winning the title for the second year in a row, they were catapulted into the top league, where they remained since with the exception of three seasons between 2005 and 2008.
Their most memorable season was in 1998/1999 when, following a spectacular regular phase and Play off, they managed to make it to the championship final and finishing as the runner-ups. However, their biggest achievement was winning their first Catalonia Cup in 2012, after beating the then League and European champions F.C. Barcelona by 3-2 in what was undoubtedly one of the most important days in the club's history.
